Written on November 4th, 2007

In a previous post, I wrote about setting up your Renegade Network Marketer tracking links in excel. Once you have this set in place, creating hyper links and changing the URL in cover graphics is a breeze.

I have created a short video to show you how easy it is to do this once you have everything in place.

Tracking Your Time

Written on November 2nd, 2007

Yesterday I wrote about the importance of tracking your marketing efforts in relation to The Renegade Links. I was reading a blog post today that I found very helpful and I am sure you will too.

The thing with Internet marketing is that it can really eat up a lot of your time. It is very easy to spend 15 minutes here, and 30 minutes there and before you have even done anything 1 precious hour has slipped away!

In this post Caroline Middlebrook refers to a tool that you may find very useful indeed, Slim Timer. This is a tool that you can record every minute of all the tasks you do in a day, week or a month and generate a report giving you a breakdown or where you spent your time. I will sure be using it now that I know about it.

Caroline’s report on tracking her activities is fantastic! I am sure you will learn a lot by reading it.

The Renegade Network Marketer Tracking System

Written on November 1st, 2007

Any Internet marketer will insist that tracking is one of the most important elements of a successful online business.

There is a great saying;

“If you keep doing what you have always done,

then you will keep getting what you have always got”.

This makes a lot of sense. Using this principle in our marketing, we just need to continue to do what is working and ditch what is not working, right?  So how do you know what is working and what is not working?

Tracking!

There are a number of different software programs on the market that will help you track all of your marketing campaigns. When you start to promote many affiliate programs in your marketing efforts, then one of these paid software programs will become essential.

The Renegade has its own tracking software built in so that you can keep track of what is working for you in relation to your Renegade marketing efforts.   Whether you are using email, forum posts, ezine advertising, pay per click or any of the other traffic generation methods to promote The Renegade Network Marketer, you really should be utilizing the tracking feature.

Here is a short video showing you how to set up your Renegade tracking links in an Excel spreadsheet so that you can easily track your marketing efforts :

Web Hosting – Creating An Account With Host Gator

Written on October 29th, 2007

There are quite a number of options when it comes to hosting a website.  I have a few different websites with different hosts.  I used SBI in the beginning and I still find them terrific.  They are a little limited in some of the features but all in all, they do a great job.  It is a very good service for someone just starting out.

I love blogs and the way they look and feel.  Unfortunately, SBI doesn’t allow you the ability to use WordPress.  All of the video tutorials on this site are hosted by Host Gator and this site is powered by WordPress.

www.HostGator.com

For less than $10 per month I can upload an incredible amount of media and run a very nice blog.  I feel this is great value. I am also able to have unlimited websites and blogs for this price!  I really don’t know how they do it at such a price.

I have created a video going through the process of creating an account with Host Gator.

Registering a Domain Name

Written on October 29th, 2007

Domain names should cost you less than $10 per year.  I use GoDaddy to register my domain names.  It cost $8.95 to register a domain name with them for one year.

When choosing a name, keep it short, easy to spell and on topic to the niche that you are going to be marketing to.  You should always choose a .com name as they seem to be the most memorable by far.

When you register a domain name with GoDaddy, you will be offered a lot of add ons that you don’t need.  The default for registering a name is 2 years and so you will need to change that as you go along.

Here is a short video tutorial going through the process of registering a domain name with GoDaddy.

Renegade Network Marketer Affiliate Links – Keeping Track

Written on October 28th, 2007

When you become a Renegade Network Marketer, you will be managing many affiliate programs.  It can get a little messy keeping track of all the affiliate programs, your affiliate URLs, user names and passwords.

As you are going through and setting up all you affiliate links it really pays to keep all of you information in one place.  When you start creating your auto responder messages recommending these affiliate products, you will be thankful that you spent the small amount of time it takes to keep everything organized.

I use an excel spreadsheet to keep track of all of my affiliate details.  Here is a short video tutorial showing you how to do this.

http://www.trs-training.com/video/TRS001/organizingyouraffiliatelinks.html

I also use RoboForm to manage all of my user names and passwords.  As you get more and more into Internet marketing, you will build up a huge list of passwords to forums, affiliate programs and membership sites.  This software will allow you to log into all of these areas with so much ease, you will be wondering how you ever got by without it.

Here is a link where you can download the basic version for free.

How to Build Your List Using YourSqueezePage

Written on October 28th, 2007

One of the most important things that you can ever do as an Internet marketer is build a responsive list of customers. It is not all that difficult to do this. There are two things that you simply must have in place;

  1. A squeeze page
  2. An Auto Responder

Once you have these two in place, you will be able to generate traffic and build your list.

What is a squeeze page?

A squeeze page is a very simple page where you offer something to your visitor in exchange for their name and email address. A squeeze page is also referred to as a landing page or a splash page.

Once a person gives you permission to correspond with them by email, you can start sending them valuable information and offers.

In this post I wanted to bring to your attention a piece of software that I use and love. If you opted in to download my Renegade Guide, you would have gotten it through my squeeze page that I built using this software. It is Matthew Glanfield’s Your Squeeze Page Version 3.0.

Matthew claims that with this software you can:

-create professional looking squeeze pages in under 5 minutes
-add audio, video, or other media to your squeeze page
-customize your thank you page according to what the visitor entered in the squeeze page
-automatically test and track every component of your squeeze page

Now, before I go any further, you should first determine whether you need squeeze page software in the first place. If you are trying to build a list at all, then you need to use squeeze pages, but there are three different options on how to go about creating one:

1. Design your own.

This option requires at least basic knowledge in HTML, FTPing and even a bit of PHP if you want to do your own tracking.

If you are able to tackle all of these things, you can save yourself some money. However, you might still find yourself spending far too much time.

2. Hire a web designer.

In my opinion, this is much better than option #1. Rather than waste your own time trying to learn HTML and all those other acronyms, you can simply hire somebody to do it for you.

This will cost you anywhere from $50 to $500, depending on how much work you want them to do.

3. Use squeeze page software.

This option falls somewhere between #1 and #2. It will save you the hastle of learning HTML, and it will save you the money from hiring a web designer.

The only problem is finding the right software. A lot of them out there will quickly create squeeze pages, but then you have to figure out how to upload them using FTP, and how to test and track everything.

Others will save you the latter problems, but then aren’t very flexible.

I found Your Squeeze Page Version 3.0 to solve all of those problems. With it you can:

-host unlimited squeeze pages (no extra cost for each page)
-track, test, and split-test EVERY component, from your headlines to your audio and video to your offer
-avoid learning HTML, PHP, FTP, MySQL, and any other technical term
-build your list faster and better

Be sure to post your comments on what you think of the software!

Back Porch Income by Steve Weber

Written on October 28th, 2007

The Renegade Network Marketer philosophy relies on using the Internet to attract customers and prospects to your network marketing business. Ann Sieg’s Renegade System works wonderfully but, I have found that the greatest hurdle most people are facing, is the initial learning curve of becoming a proficient Internet marketer.

The learning curve is very steep for some and the risk of getting information overload and burning out before even getting started is high. One of the best places to start is Steve Weber’s Internet marketing course, Back Porch Income.

www.WeberInternetMarketing.com

Steve Weber is a very sincere marketer who undoubtedly over delivers. He is obviously passionate about helping newbie Internet marketers get off to a good start. Apart from the comprehensive eBook and the 12 hours of high quality videos, you also receive a number of other high quality PLR products.

I would highly recommend putting aside some quality time and sitting down to Steve Weber’s course in order to get a real grasp on all of fundamental concepts of Internet marketing.
